It’s been a long time since La Fura dels Baus has entered a recording studio, but they’re going back from January 29th to February 2nd. It will be to record the music of Free Bach 212, the furan version of the Baukernkantate by Johan Sebastian Bach. The studio chosen to make the recording will be the Espai Sonor Montoliu, which David Casamitjana, with extensive experience in sound recording and recording productions, opened 9 years ago. Espai Sonor Montoliu is located in a town that does not reach 50 inhabitants, and the studio has an amazing backdrop of the county’s cereal fields.

The studio represents a breath of fresh air for La Fura dels Baus and the musicians of Free Bach 212 who will now immortalize their music. The recording of the entire show will be made live, through a first track that transmits the force of the timeless conviction of the furan version of Baukernkantate. From there the details of all the pieces that will take place during the concert will be polished. The result is expected to be published on cd or vinyl through the record label Audiovisuals de Sarrià SL, with whom La Fura dels Baus signed a contract in February 2017.

The concert performance directed by Miki Espuma and David Cid has the interpretation of the Baroque ensemble Divina Mysteria, the voices of the mezzosoprano Eulalia Fantova and the baritone Joan G. Gomà and the flamenco reprise of the artist Mariola Membrives. This, added to some electronic sonorous passages and a carefully made video work, envelops musicians, singers and dancers, giving meaning and perspective to the work. And it is that, launched in 2015 and officially released in 2016, it has been already 2 years that Free Bach 212 is successfully spreading around stages all over the world.
