La Fura dels Baus has always been defined as a transgressive and eccentric company. With Pastoral for the Planet, the furero Carlus Padrissa proves it once again by uniting the public, the music and the musicians through technology.

The staging of the show is an attempt to represent the power of life and nature by inviting the audience to not only listen to the music, but also to “see” it with their eyes, and respond to it with their cell phones.

“The key is to unite the audience with the music and the musicians. Technology plays an important role in this, it prepares them, excites them, and connects them with the musicians all the while allowing them to participate in the show” says the company’s artistic director.

And so it was for the audience of the Beijing Music Festival who were able to enjoy the performance of Pastoral for the Planet on September 30th at the Poly Theater together with the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Huang Yi.
