Light, color and even rain! This is how TEC de Monterrey celebrated its 80th anniversary at BBVA Stadium

After weeks of rehearsals and nerves at Borregos Stadium with students, teachers and collaborators, the big day on the calendar arrived: September 6th.

With an artistic and technological show, in front of more than 35,000 people, TEC de Monterrey celebrated FESTUM: the big party for its 80th anniversary.

With more than 1,000 students on stage, 4 cranes, large structures and the artistic direction of Carlus Padrissa together with his team and the local talent, professionals and collaborators of TEC, the party was held at the BBVA Stadium in Monterrey.

The institution thus recalled the legacy that has been built since a group of businessmen inaugurated TEC on September 6, 1943.

Referring to the FESTUM event, for Carlus Padrissa the union of technology with human deployment has been fundamental since its inception.

“We work with the technological innovations at hand, such as the wristbands for rock concerts… the video mapping; a giant sheep….

“(And also) we like to work with the human being: the action and the energy of the human being that become cells and that together make like a kind of giant.”

Undoubtedly, La Fura dels Baus already feels EXATEC and can’t get the hymn Yo soy TEC!
