The bond between La Fura dels Baus and the Ljubljana Festival is so strong that they decided to make “La Fura’s week” with two different shows. If after the success of the world premiere of SONS – To Be or Not to Be – it was not enough, next June 29th and 30th the festival will have two performances of Pastoral for the Planet.

Pastoral for the Planet is an immersive show (with 360º projections around the entire theater) based on the version of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 (Pastoral Symphony, 1808) where director Carlus Padrissa combines works by Anton Reicha, Carl Maria von Weber, Julius Rietz and Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel.

The show is a profound meditation on the relationship between nature and people, exploring the possibility of a life without excessive consumption. Combining illustrations and set design by Mihael Milunović, and the creativity of the Eyesberg Studio, multimedia art studio, the audience through the Kalliope App, which interacts throughout the show, decides the ending: whether humanity should deserve a second chance or not on Earth. In addition, for this performance of Pastoral for the Planet, we will have the prestigious soprano Sophie Karthäuser, conducted by Josep Vicent with the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra.
