La Fura dels Baus is a company in continuing research. It is a self researched company that has worked for 35 years in many different disciplines: street theater, theater of action, text theater, opera, film, installations, macroshows , product presentations, etc. Preserving its DNA and very particular aesthetic and recognizable mark in each of the various disciplines of the performing arts in which it has worked.

The relation La Fura dels Baus has with teaching began in 1989 when at the invitation of L’ Institut del Teatre of Barcelona, in the framework of its program of new theater trends, the company made a stage with students of that institution. From this first experience La Fura has been articulating over 25 years and adapting to different participants, different teaching experiences aiming to renew the stage languages. These courses are aimed at actors, technicians, video artists, musicians, artists, set designers, engineers… To all of those who share the stage work. This desire for integration and not specialization has to do with the company’s own language, based on the synergy between disciplines and the interaction between different techniques and looks over the scene.

Teaching has allowed La Fura to enrich its work as a company from the discovery of new staff and a review of our business, driven by the reflection prior to the development of each of the courses and the evaluation of results. In the same way, some ideas applied in the shows of La Fura dels Baus have had its origin in the completion of a course .
